Villiersdorp Cooperative at the heart of the farming community. Vilko the Villiersdorp Cooperative, situated in Villiersdorp in the picturesque Theewaterskloof Valley.

The products and service section consists of a grain silo, fruit intake depot, electricity service and installing of irrigation systems. Vilko has two silo tubes with a combined capacity of 3200 tons where mainly wheat is taken in. The seed cleaning facility deliver a service to members to recoup seed for the following planting season. This is still a true farming co-op where a bit of everything is handled in a diverse setting such as the Theewaterskloof Valley. It’s a place where people still have time to stop for a chat, where producers meet regularly and where the co-op is the heart of the farming community. Being a primary agricultural co-operative, VILKO’s board made a sound decision to remain a cooperative as we believe it is the best business form to serve the interest of our farmer members. Villiersdorp is unique for the well known Theewaterskloof Dam, the seventh largest dam in South Africa and the largest in the Western Cape. It is the main water supply for the Cape Town metropolitan area and of course also feeds the farming community of Villiersdorp with water. Villiersdorp Cellar continues to present wine tastings right next to the restaurant where the Cellar's complete range of wines can be enjoyed in an informal and relaxed environment. With the support of Vilko, a building which houses the Veteran Tractor and Engine Club was erected right behind Kelkiewyn. The museum is open seven days a week there is also a tractor for the children to play on. Keys to the museum can be obtained from the restaurants front desk.
